RAWMAT® HDB » Type PP Range
For liquid and contamination containment applications in areas of fluctuating ground water tables.
The PP1 series of membranes are produced in rolls of 1m width, 5m long, and can be handled manually.
The PP2 series of membranes are produced in rolls of 2m width, 50m long, and lend themselves to swifter coverage.
Type PP gives additional protection to the clay core where fluctuating water tables may be present.
The RAWMAT® HDB Type PP material consists of a non-woven perforated scrim layer, a factory pre-hydrated natural sodium bentonite central core and another non-woven perforated scrim layer. The scrim allows intimate contact between the bentonite core and the concrete to which it is applied.
RAWMAT® HDB Type PP is laid directly onto the prepared substrate with the adjoining sheets overlapping by a minimum of 150mm.
Type PP1 & PP2 Petrochemical
A factory pre-hydrated sodium bentonite membrane used to provide an effective barrier to prevent the seepage of any oil into the ground below, used in conjunction with confining stone fill layers, typically in Petrochemical Lining applications.
Example Installation Photos
- Type PP installed using lifting device, damp surfaces acceptable, avoid laying into standing water.
- Type PP laid down and clay core exposed prior to overlapping.
- Type PP overlapped by peeling the white geotextiles off the clay core and Rawpaste Mastic is applied 2mm thick x 150mm wide to the core.
- Type PP installed and sheets overlapped onto the footing of the bund wall.
- Installation of modular water storage cells wrapped in geotextile, above Type PP and Rawdrain 444.
Type PP1 & PP2 Environmental
A factory pre-hydrated sodium bentonite membrane used to provide an effective barrier to prevent the seepage of any cooling oil or leachate into the ground below, used in conjunction with sand identification and stone fill layers, typically in Environmental Protection applications.
